About

The development of individual car transportation in cities became in recent years the major pollutant of urban air, besides the heart stroke and cancer the most significant reason of premature deaths and through traffic accidents causes significant economic looses as well. The parking lots and highways take our city green areas, increase the noise and occupy public space too. This altogether worsen the quality of life of citizens and limits the development of more sustainable forms of transportation. At the last two decades of the XX. Century the cities started to build and establish pedestrian centres however with the ever increasing level of private car use the XXI. century needs new innovative and brave decisions how to make a smooth transit to more sustainable, environment friendlier ways of transportation. The market economy boom, entrepreneurship growth and easier access to car ownership clearly contributed to the enormous increase of private cars in every country. The introduction of hypermarkets and shopping centres, designed to car access further contributed to the necessity use of cars in cities.

Main project problem: Decreasing quality of life of inhabitants of towns and cities and their natural and urban environment due to increased use of private and corporate cars.
